Independent Learning – Year 7

This week you should research the meaning of the following key vocabulary words:

• Equality

• Protest

• Personification

• Nostalgia

As part of your research, and to aid your understanding, find out the etymology of each of these words. The website ‘Online Etymology Dictionary’ is a good starting place for this.

In your research you should focus on the meaning and spelling of the vocabulary and consider how each word links to your study of poetry.

You will be tested on your understanding of the words later this week. You will be given a score out of 8: 4 mark for understanding meaning, 4 marks for spelling.
