Homework: Fractions Revision Project

Your task is to create a revision resource to help you remember key ideas about fractions. Choose one of the following formats:

  1. Poster – A4

  2. Set of Revision Cards (at least 6 cards)

  3. Mind Map

Your work should be neat, colourful, and clearly explained, as if you were teaching someone else.


Topics You Must Include

  • What a fraction is,
    Explain numerator and denominator with a simple diagram.

  • Representing Fractions
    Use fraction bars, pie models, or number lines to show fractions visually.

  • Equivalent Fractions
    Show how to multiply/divide both numerator and denominator.

  • Simplifying Fractions
    Show at least one worked example.

  • Comparing Fractions
    Explain either the common denominator method or use visuals.

  • Adding & Subtracting Fractions
    Include same denominator AND different denominator examples.

  • Multiplying Fractions
    Multiply numerator × numerator and denominator × denominator.

  • Dividing Fractions
    Show the reciprocal and multiply method.

  • Converting Between Fractions, Decimals, and Percentages
    Include examples such as:

  • ½ = 0.5 = 50%

  • ¾ = 0.75 = 75%
    Explain how to divide to get decimals and multiply by 100 for percentages.


Challenge

Include one real-life example, such as:

  • A recipe using fractional ingredients

  • Fraction of a class who prefer a certain hobby

  • How sales discounts use percentages
